Gold Coast Gardens: The Bygone Country House Landscape and Its Architects

April 17, 2016

After some delightful hors d'oeuvres passed by Girl Scout Brownie Troop #222 and a tall glass or two of our refreshing signature cocktail, the Buckram Blossom, partygoers enjoyed a lecture on the gardens of the Gold Coast presented by Paul J. Mateyunas, whose encyclopedic knowledge of these bygone estates and landscapes wowed us all.

theodore  An Evening with Teddy Roosevelt

October 25, 2015

The main floor of the library was the setting for hors d'oeuvres, served by Girl Scout Troop #217, and our signature cocktail, the Rough Rider. The Friends of the Locust Valley Library kicked-off Campaign 2020 with a pledge of $50,000! The party then moved downstairs to the Matinecock Neighborhood Association Community Room for a little piano interlude by Brian Chasanoff and our featured speaker, Mr. Jim Foote, who brought Teddy Roosevelt to life.
