Countdown to College

Wed. Jan. 7th @ 7pm.
The race to the finish line begins the first day of ninth grade and doesn't finish until Graduation Day. All the standardized tests, deadlines, course selection, essays, community service, etc can make this race seem like it's nothing but daunting hurdles. Ms. Becker, who has been a NY State certified guidance counselor and standardized test preparation specialist for 35 years, will  explain step-by-step strategiesso you can  maximize your chances to gain acceptance to the college of your choice. Reg. required. Parents welcome.

Holiday Votives

 

 Holiday Votives: Thurs., Dec. 18th @ 7pm. A Great Gift Idea!!
Using modge podge, scrapbooking paper, punches and more, participants will have fun making votive candle holders.  Free.
Grades 5 –12. Take home a beautiful holiday gift or keep it for yourself! Call Youth services to register or register online.

Superbowl Party!

Superbowl Party at the Library!
Wed. Jan 28th: 7-8 pm.
Get pumped for the big game!
Enjoy Superbowl appetizers while playing action packed indoor football games! Free. Reg. required. Grades 6-12.

Middle School Book Café

 Enjoy pizza and a book talk with other teens. Meetings are held on Wednesdays once a month @ 7pm. Register and pick up a copy of the book in the teen area. Contact Ms. Leslie for further information.

Volunteering Opportunities at the Library

TEEN TUTORING 
Reading tutors are needed to assist children with their reading skills.
This session is scheduled to begin in November and meets once weekly on Wednesdays from 5-6 pm.
Call Miss Leslie for details.

HOMEWORK HELPERS 
Volunteer on Mondays from 4-5 pm. Help a young child with their homework or read together.Contact Miss Leslie for further information.

TEEN TECH TUTORS 
Teen will work one on one with adults assisting with basic computer skills and questions. Schedules vary.  Call Miss Nadine for details.

Magic the Gathering Championship of Champions

Magic the Gathering Championship of  Champions

Attention all Planeswalkers and minions of the New Phyrexia! Locust Valley Library will be having its very 1st  Magic the Gathering Tournament!
